Intersections, Inflections and Interactions
Community Center | Berkeley | Final ProjectÂ
Fundamentals of Design - Fall 2019 - Instructor : Cesar Lopez
A Community Center bounded by the intersections of the busiest streets in the surrounding site. At its core exists a staircase, reflective of the interaction, inflecting and connecting opposite ends of the building to each other, forcing circulation and circumnavigation. The intersection comes to define the center of the community, as it does the building. Spaces and halls like a cafe, offices, shops and library echo through, with the most interactive reaching out to the outside.
